1. Overview & 14-day money-back guarantee
ChristChant is sold as a subscription. Every plan begins with a full-featured 14-day free trial that takes no card and charges nothing, so you can run real services on the software before you pay for anything.
On top of that trial, every annual subscription carries a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you decide within 14 days (336 hours) of your first annual payment that ChristChant isn’t the right fit, request a refund and we’ll return the full amount to your original payment method. Approving the refund ends the subscription and returns the application to the free tier.
The window is measured from the moment your payment settles, not from when you started your trial or created your account.
2. Eligibility & plan breakdown
Annual subscriptions
- Eligible for a 100% refund when requested within 14 days (336 hours) of the payment settling.
- The refund covers the annual charge in full. Any mid-cycle tier-upgrade charge is separate and is not refunded, because it bought a change of tier rather than a period of access.
- After 14 days the annual subscription is non-refundable for the current period. You can still turn off auto-renew so it doesn’t bill again.
Monthly subscriptions
- Non-refundable once billed. A monthly charge pays for the month ahead; cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the paid month ends.
- We will still put things right where the charge was our error — see section 7.
Add-ons, taxes and third-party fees
- Taxes itemised at checkout are refunded in proportion to any refunded charge.
- Currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fees charged by your own bank or card issuer are set by them, not by ChristChant, and cannot be refunded by us.
3. How free trials interact with billed subscriptions
The 14-day free trial and the 14-day money-back guarantee are two separate things, one after the other:
- During the trial nothing is charged and there is nothing to refund. The trial does not convert into a paid plan on its own — when it ends, the application drops to the free tier until you choose to subscribe.
- When you subscribe — whether from inside the trial or later — the money-back guarantee clock starts at that first payment. Choosing an annual plan gives you a further 14 days to change your mind with a full refund.
- The free trial is a one-time offer per account. A refund does not restore an unused trial, and taking a refund does not by itself make you eligible for a new one.
4. Fair use & abuse prevention
The guarantee exists so a church can try ChristChant properly, not as a way to use a full year of the product for free. We may decline or reduce a refund, or require it to be reviewed by a person before it is issued, when the account’s usage in the period is inconsistent with an honest evaluation. Examples include:
- Mass or automated downloading of premium assets (for example, pulling far more content packs than a church would use in a fortnight).
- Excessive or automated API / integration traffic well beyond normal service preparation.
- A pattern of repeated subscribe-then-refund cycles on the same account, organisation, payment method or device.
- Requesting a refund after the account has been flagged for a breach of the Terms & Conditions.
A flagged request is not automatically refused — it is held for a person to review, and we’ll explain the decision. Genuine mistakes and edge cases are resolved in the customer’s favour.
5. How to request a refund
- Sign in to your account and open Billing in your settings.
- If your payment is inside the 14-day window you’ll see a “Covered by our 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee” banner with a Request refund button. Monthly and out-of-window customers can still submit a request for review from the same place.
- Tell us briefly why — it helps us fix what isn’t working — and confirm you understand that a refund ends the subscription.
- Our team reviews the request. Straightforward annual, in-window requests are usually approved within 2 business days; you’ll get an email either way.
- Once approved, the refund is sent to your original payment method and your subscription ends. Connected apps return to the free tier on their next sync.
No account access? Email hello@christchant.com from the address on the account and we’ll handle it for you.
6. Processing times & payment-method credits
Once a refund is approved we submit it to our payment processor (Xendit) the same or next business day. How quickly it then appears depends on your bank or wallet provider:
- Cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB): typically 5–10 business days for the credit to post, set by your card issuer.
- E-wallets and bank transfer (GCash, Maya, InstaPay, PESONet): usually faster, but still subject to the provider’s own processing.
- Refunds always go back to the original payment method. We can’t redirect a refund to a different card, wallet or account.
If a payment was made through a hosted e-wallet or bank-transfer page, the refund may be issued from our payment processor’s dashboard rather than automatically — the timing above still applies.
If more than 10 business days have passed and you still don’t see a card refund, reply to the approval email and we’ll trace it with the processor.
7. Chargebacks & dispute resolution
Please contact us before opening a bank dispute. A chargeback is slow, it can lock the account while the bank investigates, and in almost every case we can resolve the issue faster ourselves.
- Billing errors and duplicate charges: if you were charged twice, charged the wrong amount, or charged after cancelling, email us with the date and amount and we will refund the error in full, regardless of the 14-day window.
- Unrecognised charge: ChristChant charges appear from “ChristChant” via Xendit. If a charge looks unfamiliar, check with anyone else who manages the church’s account before disputing it, then contact us.
- If a chargeback is filed anyway: the associated subscription and account access may be suspended until the dispute is closed, and we may decline future service to an account with a history of unwarranted chargebacks.
8. Contact & support escalation
A real person reads every refund request and every billing email. If you’re not getting anywhere, ask to have it escalated and it will be looked at by the team that can approve it.
